The family owns 2 sào (720 m²) of rice fields and 2 sào of cashew trees. Due to the limited land for farming, their primary income comes from the couple's wage labor. Ms. Thái works at weddings, while her husband takes on any job he can find. However, both of them are in poor health. Ms. Thái suffers from a herniated disc, and although doctors recommended surgery, they cannot afford it, so she relies on herbal medicine. Her husband, Mr. Lê Đức Huy, has arthritis in his knees, causing frequent pain and swelling down to his feet. Consequently, they do not have much wage labor work, leading to financial difficulties.

Ms. Linh suffers from brain atrophy and frequently has headaches. The family has five children, the eldest son had to drop out of school to stay home and take care of his siblings. The couple does not own any land; they rent a rubber plantation in Suối Kiết, Tánh Linh, 50km away from home, to work at night to earn daily food. Every day, they travel together on an old motorbike with a cracked fuel tank, requiring multiple refuels to run.

The couple owns only 2 sao (approximately 1,000 square meters) of rice fields, but the yield from the last harvest was not high due to drought, resulting in low profits. The main laborer in the family is the husband, who works as a construction helper but only gets about 15 days of work each month. The wife, who had a herniated disc surgery 5 years ago, cannot do heavy work and stays at home to do housework and additional tasks like processing lotus seeds.

Ms. Lanh suffers from severe diabetes, hyperthyroidism, tricuspid valve regurgitation, and physical debilitation, and has been undergoing treatment for the past five years. Her health is weak, rendering her unable to work, and due to complications from her illnesses, her vision has been gradually deteriorating. She can only sit for 5-10 minutes before becoming tired and needing to lie down. Her husband has to manage all the household activities. He is the main breadwinner, working hard to support his sick wife for the past five years. Their income just covers daily expenses, and they have to borrow money for her medical treatment, leaving Ms. Lanh without adequate nutrition and medication for her recovery.
Thiện Chí acts as a bridge to help disadvantaged students obtain better computers.
