Ms. Thái suffers from a herniated disc, and although doctors recommended surgery, they cannot afford it, so she relies on herbal medicine. Her husband, Mr. Lê Đức Huy, has arthritis in his knees, causing frequent pain and swelling down to his feet. Consequently, they do not have much wage labor work, leading to financial difficulties.

She can only sit for 5-10 minutes before becoming tired and needing to lie down. Her husband has to manage all the household activities. He is the main breadwinner, working hard to support his sick wife for the past five years. Their income just covers daily expenses, and they have to borrow money for her medical treatment, leaving Ms. Lanh without adequate nutrition and medication for her recovery.
