As part of the project Autonomisation des femmes défavorisées grâce à l'indépendance économique et à l'accès aux soins de santé - Phase (2025 - 2028), funded by the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie (OIF), the Thiện Chí Center officially launched field activities in Tánh Linh and Hàm Thuận Nam districts, Bình Thuận province starting from July 2025.

The project aims to support 300 economically disadvantaged rural women to improve their livelihoods, strengthen their capacity, and enhance access to essential health services and gender equality initiatives.

🔎 Progress in July & August 2025

 ✅ Coordination with Local Authorities
Thiện Chí worked closely with communal-level management boards across the project area to review target groups, build action plans, and establish coordination mechanisms for effective implementation.

🔎 Microcredit Support for Women's Economic Development
Based on thorough household surveys, 205 women-headed households have been approved and granted 5,000,000 VND each (~200 USD). These funds are being used to kickstart or expand small-scale economic activities such as animal husbandry, small businesses, and crop production.

🔎 Practical Training for Capacity Building
In the first two months, 4 community-based training sessions were delivered, covering:

- Women’s and children’s health care

- Basic animal husbandry techniques

- Household financial management

The training sessions were held locally within the communities, with strong participation from beneficiaries and active support from community volunteers, helping to spread practical knowledge and peer learning within villages.

🔎 Upcoming Activities in September

· Expansion of microcredit distribution to additional eligible households

· Further technical training sessions in sustainable agriculture

· Launch of community-based awareness campaigns on gender equality

Thiện Chí sincerely thanks the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie (OIF) and local authorities for their ongoing support, as well as all community members for their enthusiastic engagement in the project. We firmly believe that with timely and meaningful support, disadvantaged women in these rural areas will increasingly gain the confidence and resources they need to become self-reliant and resilient.

🔎 Ongoing updates and details will continue to be published on the official website of Thiện Chí Center.

Smoking not only harms smokers themselves but also affects those around them through secondhand smoke, especially children and pregnant women. In addition, new-generation tobacco products such as e-cigarettes and heated tobacco products are becoming increasingly popular among young people, posing new challenges to public health.

Today, with just a smartphone, people can easily access thousands of sources of health-related information. However, alongside useful knowledge, there is also a large amount of unverified and even misleading information that can cause confusion and make it difficult for families to choose the right healthcare practices. Therefore, community health training programs continue to play a vital role, not only in providing reliable knowledge but also in helping people learn how to access, evaluate, and apply information correctly.

In many disadvantaged families, women often carry the primary responsibility for caring for children and managing household life. However, they frequently have limited access to financial resources that could help improve their income and economic stability. Small loans therefore serve not only as financial assistance but also as an opportunity for women to gradually transform their lives.
